LOS ANGELES (May 4th, 2018) - International organization WGI today announced the expansion of its US presence, with the launch of operations in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles is the second US city where WGI operates after Baton Rouge, its world headquarters.

In Los Angeles, WGI will be supporting the education of local children through its You Can Read program. You Can Read builds the literacy skills of under performing students by pairing them with long term volunteer partners. WGI Los Angeles, the branded name of operations in the city, has already recruited a diverse group of partners to activate this work locally.

"Our launch in Los Angeles reflects WGI's desire to grow our presence in the United States. We are committed to having our US operations match our international operations in size and scope," commented WGI Chairman & CEO Chance Wilson. "This is the beginning of an exciting strategic refocus which will see the WGI vision spread from sea to shining sea."

WGI Los Angeles will be led by two Co-Chairmen, accountable to the Board of Directors of WGI and responsible for operations in the city. Appointments for these positions will be announced in the near future.
