SINGAPORE (June 3rd, 2018) - International organization WGI, through its local affiliate WGI Singapore, is continuing to support foreign domestic workers in the country. WGI Singapore recently launched a partnership with FAST (fast.org.sg) to teach English to foreign domestic workers in the country. This partnership falls under WGI's Read and Rice program.

Volunteers in Singapore, who are recruited by WGI, come to the FAST clubhouse and are paired with a foreign domestic worker. Then, using WGI's custom curriculum, they tutor their "students" on the basics of English literacy.

"It's great to see our program in Singapore proceeding well. We are hoping that our efforts with FAST will play an important role in helping foreign domestic workers assimilate into Singapore society," commented WGI Singapore Chairman Sameer Sawhney. "I look forward to seeing the program make a meaningful contribution to the domestic worker community in Singapore".

Prior to the FAST partnership, WGI partnered with the YWCA of Singapore on a similar initiative.
