Statement from WGI Chairman and CEO Chance Wilson on Response to the Coronavirus
NEW YORK (March 22nd, 2020) - WGI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Chance Wilson today issued the following statement on its response to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19)
“Life has been shaken in an unprecedented fashion by the spread of COVID-19. However, to overcome this challenge, the world must make temporary adaptations to “flatten the curve” and stop the spread of COVID-19. WGI is no exception. To address this pandemic we are taking some key steps as a responsible global citizen:
1. WGI is suspending all physical operations and programming around the world. This includes current work in New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo. This is the critical step as WGI’s work brings together many men, women, and children around the world. To ensure their safety we must practice social distancing.
2. We will convene our global leadership, as well as our partners, to plan our business continuity. Though COVID-19 is a major disruption to our operations we cannot allow it to completely halt our work. The people we serve expect us to be there for them in good times and in bad. We will work around the clock to offer them adapted services in line with health guidelines.
3. In addition to our focus markets in the above cities, WGI will expand its response to include the countless students around the world who’ve seen their schooling disrupted due to COVID-19. WGI will leverage its talented team and industry leading partnerships to provide education services to these students who now need it more than ever.
“These are challenging times but WGI can and will adapt to weather this crisis and do good in the process. We will go where we’ve never gone before to help those who need us the most.”
